Stormy Weather...
So yesterday at 3ish started a downpour of rain that only really let up about 10 minutes ago. It let up for a little bit this morning at about 9am, and we took advantage in the break in rain and took Buddha to the beach. The sea water has amazing effects on his skin. He has terrible grass pollen allergies that give him itchies through the spring and summer, and every year that he comes to the beach, they all magically clear up. So his beach time is more than fun and games, but also a beauty spa. :)
The clouds were looking angry, and I knew, thanks to the trusty radar on my phone, that we didn't have too long before the rains were back. The storms from the night before were apparently more violent north of us. But still too close for comfort. I woke up and read this article about several funnels, waterspouts, and tornadoes in the area last night...read more HERE.After Buddha had his ocean dip, we headed back to The Sleepy Dog. (Fittingly, the name of the place we are staying at.) He has had such a fun trip, and whether in the ocean, or the pool, he has been so happy. All of the undivided attention that he is receiving is fantastic. It is spoiling him for all of the time coming up that he will be at home alone in his baby bed as Matt and I are at Whorehouse rehearsals.
As we left, we took note of our footsteps together that our little family left behind. Images like this are things that I will treasure always.
These are the little pictures of our family of three that will remain our legacy for years to come. We will always look back on these and smile. And as I close out this blog, I see that the radar has cleared up and the sun is trying to come out. That is my cue to go outside and make the most out of the rest of our time here. Hopefully there will be sunnier and sillier photos to share with you later.
Till then, xoxoSGS/MJC/BSC

Monday Funday
In the photo above, we see the pug at lunchtime, sunning himself on the porch before we headed to the beach at 1. As the sand is too hot in the middle of the day, he opted to stay home till evening. So we started our journey...
I tried to tell Matt that the bus didn't stop here anymore...
And then we arrived...the water is wonderfully warm.
Later in the afternoon, Boo joined us, and resumed chasing ghost crabs and barking at the sea.He now lies next to me passed out, along with Matty. Who knew vacations could be so tiring? :)
Till later, xoxoxoSGS, Boo, and Matt

Buddha and the Beach
Two photos of our little beach trip mascot...the first is his waking moments this morning, the second is his morning perch on the ottoman. Needless to say, he is having a great time!
The pictures below are from his first evening here, Saturday night...He has a little color changing light that goes on his harness so he is easy to spot at night. He was chasing ghost crabs and barking at the waves, and generally having the best time ever. He loves being here soooo much. But then again, who doesn't? We are about to go to the beach for our afternoon swim as Buddha settle down for his afternoon nap. More to come later!

Next Up: First You Dream -The Music of Kander and Ebb at The Kennedy Center
I have the honor and privilege of understudying three incredible performers in First You Dream - The Music of Kander and Ebb this June at The Kennedy Center. The show had it's original run at Signature Theatre a few years ago, and while some of the cast has changed, the music is still some of the best music ever written. Period.
Above is a clip from the prior production at Signature Theatre. Enjoy! And check out the show this summer. You will not be disappointed. Click HERE for tickets!

Brother Russia!
Hey there, blog! It's been awhile! I have not had much time to put anything on here this year so far, as it has been a BUSY year! I went right from Hairspray into Brother Russia at Signature Theatre and have not had time to come up for air until recently. I expect that when the show closes (April 16th) that you will hear more from me on this blog. Much to share and talk about, including the fact that Matt and I have moved back to Fairlington into a lovely townhouse that we are in love with! Buddha is also in love with his new palace, and we all enjoy being back in the "neighborhood". If you have not seen Brother Russia yet, come and check us out. I play an actor in this traveling troupe named Sergei, but Sergei plays "Prince Felix Yusupov" in the story of Rasputin - and Prince Felix was ever so interesting in real life. Was known to sometimes wear women's clothing, and was reportedly not the nicest person you'd want to meet. Here is a portrait of Prince Felix:
We should have had Buddha make a cameo in the show. And then below this is a photo of myself as Prince Felix. He is quite fun, even if his choice of footwear can be taxing. I do enjoy the costume -the coat is amazing, as is the hat. So do drop by and visit Felix and his friends at The Winter Palace. We will be rocking it out Russian style till April 16th! LIMITED EDITION HOLIDAY CANDLES FOR SALE!

After a two year hiatus, I have decided to come out of retirement and make two rounds of holiday candles this year. Part of this is because I haven't made them in such a long time that I had an itch to make them again, and had a design in mind that came to me a month ago that was unlike any that I had ever done. The other part was for some additional Christmas income, which everyone needs, but especially actors!
These color families are the traditional red and green, and a more winter/ Hanukkah inspired purple and blue and white. The red and green are scented with Douglass fir and Macintosh apple. The purple are scented with fireplace, winter night, and winter berries. I can ship these if you will include an extra $6 (for local shipping), for distances greater, contact me and I will figure the postage out. The sooner you place orders, the quicker you will receive them, so email me at stephenishome@yahoo.com and I will get your order to you as soon as possible. These make fantastic and unique gifts, and by purchasing from me, you are supporting a local artist!

Pricing is as follows:
Extra Large Pillar= $25

Large Pillar=$20

Star Pillar=$15

Oval Pillar= $12

Medium Pillar= $12

Sphere= $8

Thank you for choosing to order my handmade candles for your holiday gifts! xoxoSGS
