OK...I have not been up to my usual par as far as Blog entries...I think I have sustained a Brown Recluse bite...either that or I have an infected cut or mosquito bite.
Trying to fix it outside of a hospital visit...my ankle is potato-sized...yeesh!
Just to make you feel better, brown recluses don't live anywhere near us. The only ones are probably in zoos and my guess is that if they were to escape, I highly doubt they would make it to your house.
Although there are spiders that look and bite like brown recluses...but not quite as poisonous.
You would be surprised to know that yes, they do. Those "region" charts that indicate where a certain insect resides in our country, were made MANY years ago, and there is considerable spread... for instance, my friend Flo Lacey got bitten by a brown recluse in her garden in Connecticut! She was hospitalized and everything! So...Though I am off the hook, because it was just a common garden spider that bit me, they are lurking out there somewhere!
Really? That is shocking. All these spiders that I was using in my freak show to crawl all over my skin and bite me might have actually killed me? That makes it all a little more exciting, doesn't it?
